Essential Information

Safeguarding

Safeguarding our children, families and staff is imperative to all at the Stable School. We have a robust system for recording concerns, disclosures and allegations. Our highly trained safeguarding team include 5 SLT members and 2 additional members of staff trained at Level 3. Our head of vulnerable learners is trained at level 4 and currently undertaking an open University degree in social care. All staff are trained at level 1 on an annual basis and safeguarding is discussed at every staff meeting.

We have a safeguarding panel which meets each half term to discuss open cases and ensure reflective practise and the opportunities to challenge are available. The therapy team are represented as part of this panel.

All staff are trained and regularly re-visit the Prevent training outcomes and we are currently working with the local police team to develop ongoing support for any young person who experiences sexual harassment or abuse, online, in the community or at school.

Family support

At the Stable school we believe that whole family support leads to better outcomes for pupils and increased life chances.

Dedicated family support team including:

Vulnerable learners lead – works with vulnerable learners and their families (including all of our looked after pupils). Liaises with social care, CAHMs, MASH and community police officers to have a multiagency, creative and openly communicative approach to supporting our learners and their families.

Assistant SENCO – supports families by organising coffee afternoons and parent training and meetings.

Senior Psychotherapist – delivers family therapy to ensure a 360 approach to behaviour changes.

Key workers – Each pupil has a dedicated key worker who is the first point of contact for parents and families

Community police team – Known risk taking or criminal behaviour online or in the community supported by school in liaison with community police officers, MASH and social care
